Public Safety personnel swiftly address all reports of suspicious activity and emergencies on campus. There are several ways to report crimes and emergencies occurring on campus to the Department of Public Safety:
For off-campus crimes and emergencies, dial 9-1-1. When placing an emergency call, provide your location, required assistance (police, ambulance, or fire), your name, and a callback number.
The Health Center treats minor medical issues during regular business hours. For life-threatening emergencies, call Public Safety or 911. Public Safety can dispatch an ambulance and notify the College physician.

The Counseling Center staff provides counseling and educational programs to help students achieve their academic, social, and personal development goals. In addition to our work with students, we also help faculty, staff, and parents to promote student wellness.>
The Office of Public Safety is responsible helping to keep the campus environment a healthy and secure one, assigning parking permits, and responding to emergency calls on campus.>
The Leopard Alerts service is a notification system that enables Lafayette students, faculty, parents, and staff to receive alerts on their cell phones in the event of an emergency on or close to campus.
The college features an outdoor warning system that can activate a siren and deliver voice messages during an emergency on or around the campus. This outdoor warning system supplements the emergency notification service known as Leopard Alerts.
Exterior phones are strategically located throughout the campus and are readily identified at night by blue lights located above or near them.
