EASTON, Pa.(www.lafayette.edu), February 28, 2008 — Over the winter break, 18 students studied economics and policy in the interim-session course Guatemala: Innovations in Development. The three-week class was taught by Mark Crain, Simon Professor of Political Economy and chair of Policy Studies, and Nicole Crain, visiting professor of economics and business. The students explored opportunities for and impediments to economic progress in Central America, focusing on Guatemala as a case study.
