Six Women's Basketball Players Named to Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

EASTON, Pa. - Six members of the Lafayette women's basketball team have been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Maureen Johnson '08, who served as a tri-captain last season, led the group with a 3.80 grade-point average (GPA) for the 2008 spring semester.

Juniors Laura Cullen and Emily Garner also earned their way onto the Honor Roll. Cullen finished the semester with a 3.50 GPA, while Garner earned a mark of 3.40.

A trio of sophomores completes the list. Amanda Leone earned a 3.75 GPA, Brooke Niquette received a 3.25 and Amanda Smith earned her place on the list with a 3.60 GPA.

The Leopards finished the 2007-08 campaign with 14 wins, the most in a decade. Head coach Tammy Smith returns 11 letterwinners for the 2008-09 season, including four starters.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 GPA in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's 16 winter or spring championship sports. The criteria for awarding varsity letters are different at each institution.
