  1. President Weiss prepares initial draft of planning topicsFebruary-March
  2. Board of Trustees and Leadership Council review and comment on the draft of the document March-April
  3. GDA Integrated Services conducts external research April
  4. Senior staff expands/revises draft of planning topics Summer
  5. Form Strategic Planning Steering Committee (SPSC) June
  6 First meeting of SPSC: review work to date (draft of planning topics, and schedule) August
II Fall 2006/Winter 2007 
  1. Strategic Planning Retreat (Trustees, Board Associates, SPSC) September 7-9
  2. Second meeting of SPSC to follow-up retreat, identify appropriate Sub-committees, prepare charge for each sub-committee September 18
  3. Enlist members and convene sub-committees by October 15
  4. President reports on progress to Board and Leadership Council October
  5. SPSC and Sub-committees on-going work Oct.-Nov.-Dec.
  6. Preliminary reports from sub-committees to SPSC by January 26
  7. Feedback: SPSC to sub-committees by March 1
  8. Additional research by GDA Integrated Services as needed October-December
III Spring 2007 
  1. Progress report to Board of Trustees March
  2. Convene groups of potential donors to update on general planning issues March-April
  3. Sub-committees meet with SPSC to finalize recommendations April
  4. Presentation of key findings and recommendations to Board of Trustees May
IV Summer/Fall 2007 
  1. Draft comprehensive strategic plan by mid-July
  2. Share draft with faculty, alumni, students, community July-September
  3. Finalize strategic plan September
  4. Approval of plan by Board of Trustees
