Lafaytte College Orientation 2013The transition from high school to college can be one of the most exciting and sometimes overwhelming times in a student's life. The Orientation Program at Lafayette College is designed to aid in that transition, making it as smooth as possible for students and their families.

Orientation will happen over the four days prior to the start of classes (Aug. 27th- 30th). During this time students will connect with their peers, be exposed to the College's academic mission and expectations, and attend sessions on important campus issues such as sexual assault, alcohol, and online safety. Students will also engage in a lively discussion with one another and faculty members about our Darwin theme (visit the site below for list of campus events and activities related to Darwin). First-years should complete the required summer reading well in advance to be as prepared as possible for their first college-level discourse.

The Orientation Leaders (OLs), a dynamic group of older students selected for their enthusiasm and knowledge of Lafayette, will guide first-years through the Orientation program. They will be available at all times to answer questions and offer assistance to the newest members of our Lafayette family.

The Orientation program is an essential first step to feeling at home in our campus community and is therefore mandatory for all incoming first-year students. For more details about the Orientation program, please view the schedule below. We are eager to meet and greet you on August 27!
