September 28, 2024 marks 200 years since Easton citizens greeted General Lafayette in Philadelphia during his 1824-1825 Triumphal Tour of America. A key event leading to the founding of Lafayette College. Who was this guy Lafayette? What was his background? What motivated him to come to America and get involved with our war with Britain? How did he come to be such a celebrity in America with a college named after him? Come and find out! Rosie joined the Lafayette College faculty in 1980 and, upon her retirement, she was the longest-serving female faculty member in the history of the College. Through her teaching, leadership, and mentorship, she has had a lasting impact on countless students, setting high expectations and encouraging students to strive for excellence.
