As we focus on coming together as a community after months of video screens and separation, it is important to not only recommit ourselves to the campus but to also build deeper relationships with the Easton and Lehigh Valley communities. I am seeking to strengthen, better integrate, and coordinate the many dimensions of our work with the community.
The new position of director of community engagement will help bring a greater focus to supporting Lafayette’s commitment to Easton and the Lehigh Valley. The person we appoint for this role will work closely with our faculty, staff, and students as well as organizations and individuals in the broader community to help envision new ways that the College can be a supportive and effective partner. The new director of community engagement will also work closely with Lafayette’s Landis Center for Community Engagement, which serves as the primary resource for community-based academic activities at the College.
I hold community engagement as a priority, both personally and professionally. My husband and I are truly excited not only to be part of the Lafayette family but part of the greater Easton and Lehigh Valley communities. We both come from a background of being deeply involved in the places we live and are looking forward to partnering with our neighbors as we get to know our new home.
